Bianca Mendonça „LandScaping 0.2 – the unmapped land“

LandScaping 0.2 – das unkartierte Land – the unmapped land – takes a choreographic look athuman and non-human beings and at the co-existence between humans and nature as livingbeings. In the interpersonal world of this dance piece, plants will humanized and humans will transplant.The starting point for the creation of this piece is the Amazonian cosmological worldview, which the choreographer experienced during a long research phase in the Amazon region in her home country – Brazil – 2020. In addition, this project deals with the postcolonial aspects present in this region, as well as the consequences of these processes on the cosmological worldview. These questions will be worked on, with a group of artists based in Germany, within a collaborative process to create a contemporary dance piece that develops a shared relationship with nature as a living being.LandScaping is an artistic project cycle that explores the relationship of the native people of South America with the living environment in which they existed. The project connects to pre-colonial concepts of knowledge and life of the indigenous native population of this landscape and reworks them in the context of contemporary performing arts.
